About Me

Recovering from Addiction to Prescription Medications

I never thought of myself as an addict, but I did end up addicted to anti-anxiety medication after developing Generalized Anxiety Disorder. At some point, the medicine stopped being a way to deal with the nervousness and panic attacks, and became something my body craved. I knew that I needed help fast. Fortunately, a local drug rehab program includes support for people like me. They helped me wean off the medication, use methods like massage therapy to help my nerves heal, and even provided ongoing counseling for our family. I don't know how I would have made it without their help. If you suspect that your medication has crossed the line from being helpful to hurtful, take heart. Let me tell you about my journey out of addiction and back to wholeness.

Get Rid of Crow's Feet at the Medical Spa

by Valerie Stevens

Have you noticed crow's feet, the fine lines that develop near the outer corner of the eye? If this is the case, you might find that there are a variety of treatment methods to eliminate these lines and wrinkles.

A medical spa may be the perfect place to work on eliminating crow's feet. Here's what you should know before you book your appointment.

What Causes Crow's Feet?

Crow's feet are caused by lost skin elasticity. Crow's feet come with the loss of collagen, which is typical with aging. Crow's feet are a normal part of growing older, but this does not mean that you have to live with them.

Why Do People Want to Get Rid of Crow's Feet?

Crow's feet can appear quite deep, which is why so many people choose to do something about them. They can become more pronounced with time, and they can appear anytime you make a facial expression, whether it be a frown or a smile.

What Treatment Options Are Available for Crow's Feet?

One way to treat crow's feet is with Botox injections. These injections, administered near the corner of the eye with a very fine needle, will relax the muscles here. This means that when you smile or frown, the wrinkles will not appear prominently. You will need to receive Botox treatments every few months to see results.

Some people also consider dermal fillers as a way to retain a youthful appearance. These fillers are great for restoring volume to the face and creating a youthful contour. Fillers can thicken the skin around the eyes to ensure that the loss of collagen is not as prominently seen.

Medical spas also use a variety of treatment options in the form of topical serums and creams. These creams, especially when used regularly, can enhance the appearance of the eyes by lightening and tightening the skin, improving the elasticity and collagen development near the eyes.

Some med spas use radiofrequency to tighten up the skin around the eyes as well. Small devices can make it easier for the skin to become more tight and elastic, eliminating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
