About Me

Recovering from Addiction to Prescription Medications

I never thought of myself as an addict, but I did end up addicted to anti-anxiety medication after developing Generalized Anxiety Disorder. At some point, the medicine stopped being a way to deal with the nervousness and panic attacks, and became something my body craved. I knew that I needed help fast. Fortunately, a local drug rehab program includes support for people like me. They helped me wean off the medication, use methods like massage therapy to help my nerves heal, and even provided ongoing counseling for our family. I don't know how I would have made it without their help. If you suspect that your medication has crossed the line from being helpful to hurtful, take heart. Let me tell you about my journey out of addiction and back to wholeness.

Protect Oregon's Air With The Help Of The Jonathan Gray Family Grant Foundation

by Valerie Stevens

Oregon is very concerned with air quality and strives to keep it healthy for all of its citizens. Unfortunately, there is still a small risk that pollution could become a bigger issue if we aren't careful. As a result, it is important to learn more about this issue with the help of the Gray Foundation. This group can help you learn what you need to know about air pollution and how to avoid it.

Oregon Air Quality Hasn't Always Been Great

Air pollution in Oregon is currently at acceptable levels. In fact, the federal government has stated that all people in the state currently live in healthy areas. That fact wasn't always the case. In fact, areas like new Portland were often so smoggy that it was unsafe to go outside without a mask. Thankfully, emissions control has helped to manage this issue.

That said, there is a strong chance that this issue could occur again. While the EPA control and regulations keep things from getting too bad, future generations may not be prepared for new challenges or understand how to handle current ones.

New Challenges Occur All The Time

The unfortunate truth is that education regarding air pollution is not what it should be throughout the nation. As a result, a growing number of people in the current generation are growing up unaware of this danger. As a result, they may not take it seriously or react to it in an effective way. Therefore, it is important to find other ways to teach children and others about the old and new dangers that can affect our air quality.

How The Jonathan Gray Family Foundation Can Help

The Jonathan Gray Family Foundation Grant Program is designed to help educate people in Oregon on the difficulties inherent in air quality. If you are concerned about the air quality near your home, these foundation can help you manage these issues by:

  • Educating the population on common pollutants
  • Providing training to help manage these issues
  • Work to manage common air pollutants
  • Teaching schools how to educate students on these problems

While the air quality in Oregon is currently at a healthy level, that could very easily change. There are a lot of new businesses and organizations moving to the area. These new businesses could increase the air pollution around larger cities and make Oregon a less clean place to live.

So if you are concerned about the dangers of air pollution in your home, please don't hesitate to apply for a grant from the Jonathan Gray Family Foundation. They can provide you with the help you need to learn more about these common problems and manage them effectively.
